## How the model works

Initia Risk is priced as a hybrid of two ideas:

1. **Modular** - the platform is divided into modules (for example: risk register, RCSA, controls, policies, compliance, reporting). You pay for the modules you need today and add more as your governance framework matures.
2. **Scalable on the right axis** - the people who run and oversee the platform are licensed; the people who participate in the framework are not. This means the cost of the platform tracks the size of your governance team, not the size of your business.

## What is licensed

- Platform administrators
- System power users (e.g. risk team, compliance team, internal audit users who actively run the platform)

These are the people who configure the platform, run campaigns, build reports, and operate the day-to-day GRC programme.

## What is not licensed

- Risk owners (first-line business users)
- Control owners (first-line business users)
- Risk event reporters
- Anyone in the business who simply needs to update their own risks, complete their own controls, or log an incident

This is intentional. Penalising first-line participation with per-seat licensing creates a direct disincentive to roll out a risk framework across the business. We do the opposite: framework rollout to owners and business users is free of licensing impact, so risk culture can scale across the organisation without commercial friction.

## Why this matters

Most legacy GRC platforms charge per named user across the entire organisation. That means rolling out a risk framework to 500 risk owners costs 500 licences - and so the framework either gets watered down to fit the budget, or the budget kills the rollout.

Initia Risk's hybrid, modular model removes that trade-off:

- Add modules as your framework matures - no need to commit upfront to capabilities you do not yet use.
- Roll the framework out to as many first-line owners and business users as you need - never penalised for adoption.
- Predictable cost based on the size of the team that actually runs the platform.
